Employers Survey

Do you see young people aged 16 - 19 as an asset to your workforce and company, or do you see only problems?

Help us to address any issues you have by telling us why you are keen to recruit new employees in the 16 - 19 age bracket, or whether you have some reservations and what they are.

The Integrated Youth Support Service (IYSS), which incorporates Connexions, helps young people into employment and training. Help us to help them by answering the two questions below.

  • The minimum wage for apprentices is £95 per week.
  • Employers who take on a 16-18 year old apprentice only pay their salary. The Government will fund their training. Most of the training is ‘on the job’ at your premises. The rest can be provided by a local college or specialist learning provider, or, if you have the facilities and support, you could deliver everything yourself.
  • Connexions can advertise your vacancy for free, can match suitable candidates to your vacancy from our database of young people seeking employment and have facilities for you to hold interviews or open days.
