How to be a Personal Adviser


A Connexions Personal Adviser is able to offer advice and guidance to help you make practical decisions about your future. They can give you support in a variety of ways while you are at school and after you have left.

This includes:

  • Helping you to get information on health, housing, money, relationships, the law and your rights, leisure, volunteering and so on.
  • Offering careers guidance to suit your individual needs.
  • Supporting you in preparing your personal action plan.
  • Giving information on the range of courses available in local sixth forms and colleges and giving advice on higher education route
  • Telling you about local job and training opportunities.
  • Providing advice when you receive your exam results, if you want or need to change your plans.
  • Making you aware of other agencies which can offer you extra help.
